This morning Abbott and AbVie confirmed their participation at the 2nd Zug Job Fair!

Last year we started small, with only few participating companies who saw the potential of a Career Fair in Zug. Most of the HR approached did not support this fair saying that there is no unemployment in Zug. They need to recruit abroad and bring in many expats.

Those who came were astonished by the number of visitors, but mostly by their qualifications and experiences.

This year there will be more companies and with your support, dear visitor, next year there will be even more!

Entrance to the fair is free of charge, you only need to register.

Have a great weekend, I’m sure going to have one!

2nd Zug Job Fair; Biogen Idec confirmed participation!

Have a great weekend all, and a relaxing summer!

Do not forget to update your CV, the 2nd Zug Job Fair is coming in September.

Biogen Idec confirmed participation at the second Zug Job Fair, they were there at the first fair too, and it seems that they were happy with the program and the qualifications and experience of the visitors.

I know of at least 1 person who attended the fair in September 2012 and now is working at Biogene! Who knows…? The next lucky one might be you!

2nd Zug Job Fair

JobFair2nd Zug JobFair

The first Zug Job Fair took place in September 2012, and I can tell you, the organisation process was not simple. First of all nobody believed that there was a real demand in Zug for such a fair, the official unemployment rate being around 3%.

However I was 100% sure that there is a significant hidden workforce in our Kanton. It is not difficult to grab the concept, enough to consider that 34% of the population are foreigners who move here most of the time with highly qualified and experienced spouses, who do not result in the official statistics. How many are they? I would say around 10% of the population. This is of course a rough approximation, but I run a survey at the fair and learnt the facts- surprising the sceptical.

The second Job Fair will take place on the 27th of September 2013 and we prepare great workshops for the visitors. A part from the topics covered last year, we’ll have an additional workshop on Psychometric Training.
